The Congress is directed to instrumental musicians (professionals, amateurs and students), teachers-pedagogues, physicians, specialists in body-oriented methods and physiotherapists.

Main topics
The Congress will focus on actual knowledge in causes, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of main instrumental musician's problems with special emphasis on the role of music pedagogy in musicians' health promotion. Main topics will be:

Institut de Fisiologia i Medicina de l'Art-Terrassa (Institute of Physiology and Medicine of Art - Terrassa)
After ten years of experience in the Hospital General de Manresa (Barcelona), the members of the Medical-Surgical Arts Medicine Unit of this centre aimed at making possible an ambitious project: to put together different health professionals with some experience in the attention of performing artists within an infrastructure and equipment adapted to the performing arts medicine needs. Their main goal, to be able to offer a complete and specialised attention to musicians, dancers, singers and actors still continues. Since its foundation, the Institute has been mainly characterised by an intense research work placing it at the front-line of arts medicine.

Fundació Ciència i Art (Art and Science Foundation)
With the purpose of "applying science to the study and the improvement of performing artists quality of life" this non-profit organisation promotes the investigation, the education, the divulgation of knowledge, as well as projects aiming at sensitising the general community about performing artists quality of life. Although the economic dowry of its patterns (Terrassa City council, Abbey of Montserrat, Institut de Fisiologia i Medicina de l'Art-Terrassa and several enterprises) allows to maintain its basic activities, is the sensitivity of its collaborators and sponsors that allows to carry out activities like courses, edition of related material, development of new research and treatment tools, and the advising of projects or formation of artists and health professionals.
