Pain or fatigue in the forearm musculature is becoming one of the most frequent pathologies among musicians. Difficulties in the diagnostic and the few existing knowledge about pathologies origin make that kind of disturbances very difficult to treat. This round-table aims to concretise the magnitude of muscular overuse, its possible causes and treatments, as well as to establish preventive criteria.

Although lesions of the musician's hand can be similar to those suffered by non-musicians, to guarantee a good functional result of the musician's hand the therapeutic approach cannot be always the same as for non-musicians. This round-table intends to establish clear criteria of what should and what shouldn't be done for the hand of the injured musician.

Although health professionals agree that musicians have a high risk to suffer from professional illnesses, the legal and social consideration of that issue is usually neglected. This round-table intends to analyse which are these conflicts bringing together the musician's and the health professionals' point of view, as well as the legal, administrative, and labour considerations at present.
