Institut de Fisiologia i Medicina de l'Art-Terrassa is the
first medical center, in our country, specialized in complete medical
attention to performing artists exclusively. This center also does
research in several injuries or deseases of performing artists and
some publishing and teaching on this subject.
Although art's medicine generally looks after musicians, singers,
actors and dancers (what we know as the scenic arts), everyone
who uses the body as a way of expression (for example acrobats,
clowns, teachers, and directors of production staff linked with
those activities) can also benefit from the Institute's
services.
Most
of the problems that affect this group of people can appear at
anytime during their careers. So in this Institute we look
after the professional artists as well as students or amateurs.
